MELBOURNE, Australia — May 7, 2018 — Cradlepoint, a global leader in cloud-delivered edge solutions for 4G/5G wireless networks, has announced new NetCloud Solution Packages for branch and mobile networking that come equipped with faster LTE Advanced Category 11 (Cat 11) modems. These solution packages, based on the COR IBR1700 and AER2200 edge routers, are capable of up to 600Mbps maximum download speeds, making them up to six times faster than the maximum speeds of top tier National Broadband Network (NBN) connections. Delivering faster speeds approaching 1Gbps over 4G LTE Advanced cellular networks is part of Cradlepoint’s ‘Pathway to 5G’ strategy.

Cradlepoint’s recently announced NetCloud Solution Packages make it easy for customers to buy, deploy, manage, and enhance their branch, mobile and IoT networks. The entire solution – which includes a tailored set of NetCloud services, fit-for-purpose hardware, and comprehensive 24×7 support – is packaged into a single 1-, 3-, 5-year subscription, providing customers with faster time-to-value and better vendor alignment with their success. With the new solution packages that include LTE Cat 11 modem-equipped routers, businesses of all size can now enjoy a faster, more reliable wireless WAN connection.

“Delivering steadily faster 4G LTE speeds is part of Cradlepoint’s ‘Pathway to 5G’ strategy, and our new solution packages featuring LTE Cat 11-equipped edge routers give businesses a higher-speed, higher-reliability wireless option to wired NBN connections”, said Gavin Wilson, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Cradlepoint. “Along with the faster speeds, customers will benefit from the robust cloud management, simple deployment, remote troubleshooting, and advanced security features of Cradlepoint’s NetCloud service and 24×7 comprehensive support.”

Products and availability

Designed to withstand extreme environments, the ruggedised COR IBR1700 is an all-in-one mobile networking solution that’s ideal for organisations that use their vehicles as a mission-critical communications hub for field forces, passengers, and on-board IoT devices, including police, fire, ambulance, and other first responders, school and metro transit buses, light-rail and commuter trains or mobile command trailers.

The AER2200 edge router provides a converged branch network solution that supports 10 switched Ethernet ports for WAN or LAN connectivity, 802.11ac WiFi with guest portal, along with an expansion slot for a second LTE modem. It is designed to provide an all-in-one branch solution for small footprint sites commonly found in retail, quick-service restaurants, financial services networks, temporary offices, or even pop-up stores.

Both the COR IBR1700 and AER2200 are powered by Cradlepoint’s NetCloud service that provides cloud management as well as advanced edge routing, SD-WAN functionality, and Unified Threat Management for direct Internet and cloud access. For IoT security, NetCloud Perimeter provides secure device-to-cloud overlay networks that isolate and cloak devices from the Internet and trusted networks.
